Conference-Panel: The Mediterranean Cultural Transfers of Max Weber’s Science and Politics Notion

In research, the comparative translation analysis of Max Weber’s (1864-1920) concept of science and politics has so far been undertaken only sporadically. However, this analytical dimension of Weber’s transnational reception is important in order to understand how exactly his understanding of science and politics impacted correspondingly academical and non-academical circles. This panel aims at a transnational translation-centered analysis of the Mediterranean transfers of Weber’s science and politics notion. We call for paper contribution addressing this transfer, particularly in the Romance-speaking and Slavic-speaking countries, including as well Greek-, Turkish- and Hebrew-speaking paths of resemanticization and beyond (Egypt, etc.).
